Privacy Policy

NibbleIQ is a food-logging mobile app — a NutriMantra product, built by Aryabhatta Labs as the technology partner. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this policy short and honest. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain.

Information we collect

Account information

• Email address — from Google Sign-In, used to authenticate your account.
• Phone number — if you sign in via WhatsApp OTP, used only for authentication.
• Username — how we greet you in the app.

Profile information you enter

• Gender, year of birth, country of residence, native country
• Food preference (vegetarian, non-vegetarian, vegan, etc.) and cuisine preferences
• Health conditions you choose to share (e.g., diabetes, PCOS, hypertension)
• Height, weight, activity level

This information lets us personalise nutrition targets to you. You choose what to share.

Your food logs and measurements

• The text you type when logging a meal (e.g., "2 roti dal rice")
• The structured meals, macros, and nutrients we derive from that text
• Optional context tags (who you ate with, how, where) — only if you add them
• Body measurements you choose to record (weight, waist, hip)

Technical information

• Platform (iOS or Android) and app version
• Authentication tokens stored securely on your device

Health data (with your permission)

If you grant permission, NibbleIQ may read sleep and activity data from Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect to show you food-and-lifestyle correlations. You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time. Health data is processed on your device and only the minimal summaries needed for your insights are stored on our servers.

What we do not collect

• Your location
• Your contacts
• Your photos or camera feed
• Third-party analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no Mixpanel)
• Advertising identifiers

How we use your information

• To run the app — authenticate you, save your logs, show your history.
• To personalise nutrition guidance — calculate your daily macro targets based on your profile and conditions.
• To parse your meals — the raw text you type is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to extract structured nutrition data. This is processed per-request and not used to train models.
• To generate insights — aggregated summaries of your own data, computed either locally or via our AI provider.
• To improve the product — anonymised, aggregated usage patterns help us spot bugs and improve the app.

Third-party services we use

• OpenAI — to parse meal text and generate insight summaries. Your food log text is sent with no account identifiers attached.
• Google Sign-In — to authenticate you. We receive your email; Google does not receive your food logs.
• WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta) — to deliver one-time login codes to your phone if you choose that login method.
• Apple HealthKit / Google Health Connect — with your permission, to read sleep and activity data on your device.
• Hosting providers — our database and servers are hosted with reputable cloud providers under standard data-processing agreements.

We never sell your data. We never share it for advertising.

Storage and retention

Your data is stored in a secure database and retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.

Your rights

• Access — request a copy of your data
• Correction — correct anything inaccurate
• Deletion — delete your account and personal data
• Portability — export your food logs

Children

NibbleIQ is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of NibbleIQ after a change means you accept the updated policy.
